I am trying to put it back together.

I removed the gauge cluster and found burned path from ignition to water-oil pressure gauges.

I'm going to solder in a jumper, but the tach connector is just lying under the dash, and I'm using a 1974 Pontiac service manual that doesn't show where these wires go.

One looks like it goes to the fuse box to a 12v source.

Can anyone tell me where the second wire goes and is there an exemplary wiring diagram for a Trans Am?

I will buy a manual.

That laminated year one 76 TA wiring diagram is useless. It doesn't show the cluster, just the connector wiring.

Thanks.

They make very good reproductions of the cluster circuit boards if you need to replace that someday, just FYI.

I also resoldered/relaminated some circuits to fix mine rather than get a new one, because the quality of reproduction parts is such a crapshoot.

I eventually did put in a repop board, and the quality is top-notch.
