Hey guys, I’ve been looking for the right firebird for a while now.

Recently this one has come up for sale locally. It’s a 1970 firebird formula factory 400 and heavy-duty 3 speed.

The engine isn’t the factory one but it is 1970 400.

The tranny is correct but missing the shifter linkage, clutch and flywheel.

Needs complete interior as well as rear quarter, door skin, and passenger side footwell floor pan.

It has the original 12 bolt rear and with factory 3:55 gears and originally its factory lime green.

He’s asking $14500 OBO CDN.

My question is, is it worth it when it’s done? I can do the mechanical stuff myself as well as interior but have 0 skill when I come to post panels.

I know It’s a rare car as only 411 were imported to Canada and pretty sure not many left with these options.

This is what it should be once restored.

Maybe $40k if gone back to original as possible?

You'd have to push to find the original motor, plus it's only a factory 3-speed.

It is rare, however, no doubt.

Will need tens of thousands in work as well.

That's $11,600US.

It sure would be a sweet car to put together.

The finished product would be outstanding!

Me personally?

I would not buy it for that much money.

I might consider it in 2025 if I was going to keep the car and do most of the work myself.

Restoration and paint would make it impossible to resell for a profit, as said above, and the amount of other work would commit you to a long restoration—better ways to spend your time on. I've done that; you don't want to do it.
