Solar Gold colour - Help!

I am respraying my 1979 Trans Am, returning to the factory color ( listed as Solar Gold ).

Has anyone got one this color here?

I am having problems getting the "right" look to the gold - only doing the insides of doors at this stage to get the color correct.

I believe the GM code was 50.

Has anyone else had this problem? Perhaps an equivalent gold can be used, but it is becoming a nightmare as there are so many different gold variations.

As you found out, the old paint codes don't translate to the modern mixing codes.

Solar Gold is Code 50.

A skilled paint mixer could locate a similar shade available 'off the shelf.'

I finally got a color with the help of the sprayer and his colleague doing the work.
