When I took my Firebird for an engine rebuild, I told the owner I wanted to upgrade to 4 4-barrel intake and carburetor; he said, "Okay, we can get an Edelbrock intake & carburetor combo to put on there.

"When I picked up the car, I asked him about the 2 barrel setup still on there, and he just blew it off and said it would have cost me more money (no kidding?).

So, after the fact, I can get a 4-barrel Edelbrock combo or something else...

Or maybe upgrade to EFI?

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

IMHO, The best factory intake manifold for Pontiac engines is, hands down, the 1969 Pontiac Ram Air IV intake manifold!

Like the 455 HO factory intake manifold, it is aluminum, BUT the factory Ram Air IV intake manifold was also “precision-cast," giving it better and more accurate runners.
