Where To Start?

Hello everyone.

I am new here and unsure what to ask and where to start.

What I have here is a disassembled dream.

My wife's dad started this project a long time ago, and little by little, on a minimal budget, he was making his dream come true.

However, I am sad to say that his dream is going to be nearly impossible for me and my wife to complete as he passed last Nov, and with his passing, the vast knowledge of this car is gone too.

I have some mechanical skills, but they are nowhere near what he had. Things I do know:
1. Motor is a 455
2. The car needs lots of work
3. I need all the help I can get when it's finally time to start this project.
4. It's a 1979 per the VIN

The car looks pretty solid.

The first thing to do is get it cleaned out so you can access any issues with rust.

This will also help you figure out what you have/need for parts.

Another helpful thing you could do is join a local Pontiac or classic car club.

They are an excellent resource for restoring your car and determining what local businesses should use or avoid.

Ty.. for the advice I will definitely look but the city is live in is not that big... but FINGERS CROSSED!
