So I have a 2000 TA WS6 Convertible.
I know these were built from t-top cars and were repainted out of necessity after the conversion.
My question is was a color change a common occurrence with the repaint?
My car apparently started life as U 8774 Red which is more of a cranberry-ish shade as viewed on the underside of the floor pans.
However, the top of the car is red or, as I refer to it, arrest me red or sometimes known as resale red.
But this is no ro-tow body shop type of color change.
This is an all-encompassing total body color change with no overspray or tape lining whatsoever.
Here are some underside, under hood, below the windshield and door jamb shots.
The trunk is also done correctly in the top color.
So now my question is were convertibles built to order?
If this color was ordered, was a WS6 t-top car taken off the line before completely built, then converted, and color changed?
If that did happen then why didn't they change the color code on the RPO sticker?
Thank You in advance for any responses.
