I currently own a 2001 T/A; previous to this, I had a 2001 Corvette.
They both made the same sound when warm to hot.
Many have posted somewhat different interpretations, like piston slap, lifter, and close to a knock.
After chasing rabbit trails of these sound postings, some say it's the oil viscosity, piston rings need a cleaner additive, oil needs a cleaner additive, etc.
This sound is the same from 2 different cars, and it leads me to believe LS1s are somewhat clarity, clackity-sounding engines when they are just fine.
I have yet to use moly lifter juice or any other kind.
The T/A has a fresh oil change to Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 Synthetic with an STP oil filter.
