I am new to the Pontiac Trans Am Community, although I have had the 1986 Trans Am for 26 years.

Only 83,000 miles on it, and the motor locked up.

The mechanic forgot to put the oil back in after changing.

So, deciding what to do, we replaced the 305TPI with a 350TPI.

I purchased the replacement motor and trans from Hawk Performance out of South Carolina.

The replacement motor has been modified, but I'm unsure what was done.

With all that said, I am trying to find out how to locate the last owner of the car it came out of.

I have the VIN of the car it came from, but I don't have the means to look into past owners.

If anyone needs anything, I will be parting out usable parts off the 305TPI.

I am wondering the same thing.

The mechanic would be responsible for the replacement since it was their fault.
