700R4 In 2nd Gen Trans Am?

Hi all, I have a 2nd Gen.

I just rebuilt a 700R4 that I would like to put in.

Does anyone know how well or if it will work with 343 Gears?

Is that too low for an OD trans?

That’s an ideal combo as the R4 has a 0.69:1 4th gear, perfect rear gears for a snappy 1st gear & relaxed highway rpm.

What engine is it going behind?

It is going behind a Pontiac 455; it's been a project car I have held for years.

I have the built motor on a crate and have already rebuilt the 700r4.

I did the rear end a couple of years ago.

It's a big puzzle that I am finally moving to put back together now.
