I just bought a 1987 Trans Am GTA and I have a couple of questions.

I’m new and a little older.

I have the ses light flashing.

The person I bought the car from removed the cat and added a header back Magnaflow exhaust system.

He said it was flashing when he bought it in Virginia.

What can cause this light to flash?

My second question is whether the door handles were shaved off and replaced with a door popper system.

The driver's side solenoid sticks; I took off the interior door panel and tapped on the solenoid, and it worked for a while, but then it stuck.

My last question what is the operating temp for the fans to kick on?

Last question what is involved in converting ac from R12 to R134?

Can you scan the car for the code?

Thank you,
PTA Staff
I haven’t done that yet. The gentleman I bought the car from didn’t know why there was a brown and black wire put in to the top right 2 pins on the obd1. Also the temp has been running about 230 at idle and 190 at about 50 mph. I think it runs hotter because the front bumper cover is a a lingenfelther front bumper cover and the air intake is going thru my battery tray as the battery was put in the back passenger cavity. Just trying to figure out how to keep it running cool.
