I have been into Firebirds and especially Trans Ams since 1974.
In November of '78, I ordered a new Trans Am.
All of the 400 4 speeds were already sold.
So I ended up ordering a 301 4 speed WS 6 car. I still have that car.
I also have a '78 Y 84 Trans Am and the first Firebird I bought, a '68 350 car.
I collect Pontiac intake manifolds, heads, and carbs.
