Radiator Too Close To Engine?

My son owns a 2002 WS6, which has been off the road for a while.

During that time, we replaced his radiator with a quality aftermarket one.

It was a tight fit, but it was installed without any need for modification, and it works fine.

When he took it, an inspection stated her in Pennsylvania he was told it would not pass because the radiator was too close to the engine! I have never heard of a distance requirement between rad. and engine.

Has anyone else?

As I said, it mounted correctly.

I would take it to another inspection station.

I never heard of that anywhere, but I’m not familiar with PA inspections.

Seems like every state is a little different on inspections.

It’s all a money-making racket.

I agree.

The only reason I can think of is that he thought it was sketchy.

He suggested putting in a stock radiator (?) or waiting until the car qualifies for antique.

This just in: He took it to a place that is anal.

I have no idea where they get their information.

We're going to try a local gas station.

Thanks for the responses.

I'm not sure of the names of the jerks, but I'll try to let you all know.

I would make that inspector show you the inspection rules, which it says the fan must be a certain distance from the radiator.
