Performance Upgrades For My Trans Am?

I want to get some more horses under the hood.

Recently read that a new cam is the best option.

What size would give me the most power without having to do headwork?

Idk. I just saw a video where a guy installed a cam in his LS1 and netted around a hundred horsepower.

He explained that the intake, factory headers, and heads were sufficient for that particular cam swap.

I'm a shade tree mechanic on my best day.

That's why I'm here asking questions.

I need more than a utube video to justify the time, investment, and risk to myself and my vehicle.

I appreciate any information and/or advice you may have to offer.
