Thinking of swapping the automatic 79 Transam passed down to me to a manual along with other more minor mods.

Has anybody done this before, or do you know somebody who has and has any opinions on going about doing this?

The odometer is broken, but it's estimated to be around 120k with all original parts and paint.

Just new tires and Rubber tubing and such.

Necessary replacements

I am a new member searching the forums for info and saw your post.

I have a 1970 Transam that had an automatic, and I purchased a kit from American Powertrain with a Tremec TKX for my car.

The kit I purchased had everything I needed to do the conversion.

Make sure you look at the components in the kit.

There are options, and I upgraded some of the components since I have done performance mods to my car to increase my hp.

Be sure to look at the Tremec calculator to choose your gear ratio.

Need to know what the gearing is in the rear end.
