Hello, everyone; I am the owner of two TAs.

One is a 79 silver anniversary with the 403/automatic package, and the other is a 2002 WS6 package.

I bought the 2002 new the 79 i have had for around ten years.

My question is regarding the 79'.

I need to replace the mechanical fuel pump, and I see the space is super tight.

Do I need to remove the AC compressor mounting brackets or bolts to gain clearance to slide out the pump?

What would be the easiest way to do the job?

Everything looks to be original as far as the setup goes.

Thanks for any advice!

Well, folks.

I replaced the fuel pump with no issues.

I was surprised it slipped right out without removing the AC mounting brackets.

I also replaced the oil pressure sensor.

It was fluctuating crazy like.
