Identify Which Version Firebird?

I'm trying to ID a 74 Firebird as the owner isn't home to send VIN, and I am interested in buying it.

It has a 350 motor and tranny original, and its speedo goes to 160mph.

Just not sure if it is the base model or the Espirit.

It listed at $12,500; the last Firebird I owned was back in 92, and I paid 1200 for an 84.

That looks like a 1976 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350.

Is that hood from a 76?

It is advertised as a 74.

Hmmm.

I’m sure that’s a 74-75 hood; the scoop openings on a 76 sit about 18” further back.

It certainly looks like a Formula, but without the VIN, it will be hard to say.

I'm debating this one.

It comes with the 2bbl carb.

Specs are showing relatively unimpressive numbers for that 350 with the 2bbl.

Looks nice, though.

So tempting.

Does it have the honeycomb grill?

If so, it's a 76; if not, it isn't.
