So I went through the wringer of attempting to choose from various gasket materials for specific applications, wandered into the depths of websites and reviews, and was left to my mad experiments.
So far, straight Cork was successful on the valve covers only but not on the tranny pan (neither was cork composite, so I switched to a 3/16" vulcanized Morosso, but it still drips at one corner, so possibly the original pan warpage - replacement coming).
Rear Diff got the nifty dry Fel-Pro, and despite nearly half of its reviewers having issues with it, I have yet to see a hair of a leak with it.
Given the age of 2nd Gens, what have been your most successful choices?
As an aside, to date, I haven't bothered with RTV.
Looking to do the oil pan soon, so any insight would greatly help what's left in my wallet, LoL.
