The power regulators sold are for those wanting to convert manuals; they do not swap.
As mentioned, the originals are close to bulletproof, even the motors.
The poor wiring and switch that burns out from all the load running through it and the poor earth that uses only a greasy door hinge for the path.
Rebuild a used set if it even needs that.
As for the above, source an oversized rivet, drill out both to match it and remove the sloppy, worn hole that was created.
Or even a low-profile bolt with locknut would work; check for clearance.
If you take it out for work, you may be ahead by swapping a good used one instead.
