A good friend of mine owned this car for quite a few years but has passed away.

His widow now wants to sell it, but neither she nor I know what to ask for it.

I have researched the car on the net and found out that a Pontiac dealer out west built it.

I think that this one has a 400 motor with a 4-speed trans.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Certainly, it's a nice find for someone with the time and cash to put her all back together, but the Machos have their own niche among the Birdies.

Try researching past sales on all the nationally-franchised classic dealerships to get a feel for condition and price, and you'll get an idea from the top end, and then you may have to move quite a bit down from there.

Also, why is there a rain gutter elbow in the image?

Stuff like that hurts presentation and the perception of value, care, etc., so I would suggest cleaning her up inside and out and giving a good presentation along with providing all the honest pertinents (papers, mechanical, service, etc.).

She's a unique gem, but condition et al, is everything, and the Top ones are still highly prized.

But, honestly, no one can pin a value on it just based on this photograph alone, and the unfortunate lady may be disappointed if the vehicle is hyped too much upward.

The good news is that we're still in Summer with car meets and shows everywhere, so if she runs, enter it into one of those with a For Sale sign on it and see what happens.

Best wishes and belated condolences to your friend.

Sorry, I didn't know that someone had tried to contact me.

I am unsure if she is ready to sell it yet.

If you want to talk to me about it, you can call me evenings at 610-547-6725

Fabulous cars! I’ve only ever seen one in the flesh, which is remarkable in its own right, as I’m in England.

That car was a ‘78 with a Turbo & a Doug Nash 5-speed; it was about 20 years ago.

If you or the owners don’t mind, could you share some info about the car with the forum?

It would make fora fascinatingg thread!
