I’m pretty sure you only have to modify the trans tunnel on a column shift car.

4L60E is the same as the 350/400 turbo.

If your car was an original auto, no mods should be needed.

If you mount the engine in the stock location as the small block chevy, the only mod when installing the 4L60E is with the trans-cross-member.

Just move the crossmember rearward to the second hole in the frame and drill two new holes.

I have done this on my 80 Y84.

Installed a LY6 engine with modded 4l60e trans.
