Due to a very mild winter here in the NH Lakes region and a short and sweet mud season, we finally got the Fire Am out to the paved road for a road test.
The Borgeson 800 steering box is all that they claim it to be.
The feel is firm and solid, and the wandering on-center numbness of the GM-Saginaw steering box has been vanquished.
Highly recommend this upgrade for anyone looking to get as modern and precise a steering feel and response as possible in a Saginaw box-equipped car.
Also, the clunking noises of the aftermarket intermediate steering shaft have been eliminated with the Ames Performance rebuilt OEM shaft.
Also below is the Wolff Engineering lower steering column bearing that replaced the sloppy OEM plastic bushing, which is also highly recommended.
All in all a very successful upgrade.
