I have a 1976 black TA with a gold bird decal.

The paint is original and in very good shape.

With all the modern-day waxes available, I wonder what type of wax is best for the black paint, especially the decal.

@Black Dragon First, don’t use wax on the hood bird or decals; they tend to dry them out over the years.

I have a 76 50th with the original lacquer paint showing its age.

However, I like to use plumb crazy hand glaze to remove any marks on the body and then top it off with Malco’s pink water-based wax that’s super easy to remove.

I also use a turtle wax Ice detailer, which can be applied in direct sunlight.

This may be a bit old now, but it works for me, and my car shines like a new penny.

Every person has a personal care package, but this one is mine.
