I've been trying to find the backrest cables for my 79.

Similar to the release cables, but about 4" long, they go on the lower side backrest area to keep it from going all the way into the dash or steering wheel.

Custom-made cables are an option, but they are pricey.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

The seat flip-over cables?

Several make them mind you; they are just crimped cable; the originals were also grey plastic-dipped.

The coating often cracks and falls off by now from flexing and drying out with age.

I can't find any reproductions right now.

I think I've seen them on eBay on black cable.

They could be improved by slipping some heatsink tub over the crimps or the whole lot.

This is what I'm looking for!

Thanks so much for the info.

I found some luggage security cables on eBay that appear close enough, but I will get them if they don't work out.

No dramas.

That particular version is out of stock, but I've seen similar.

You only need a guy with cable, crimping dogs, and tools.

I made these things on and off for armored artillery sent to Brazil.

If you need better measurements to make or find something, yell out.

I ran across these from a company we used before I retired.

I'll give an update when I get some.

Cables of the proper length are a little smaller than the originals, but they're cheap.

Maybe this will help others down the road.

Thanks again for the help!
