Backstory behind my Trans Am--

My father, Kirk Lusch, took possession of a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am back in the 90s shortly after graduating with his Masters from Michigan State University. He drove the hell out of this car and made sure to take care of it while doing so. I lost count of how many times this car was in the shop or on the side of the road being written up for speeding. We went to just about every car show possible and we had to opportunity to race it around Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina back in the early 2000s. Although the car was mint inside and out, one thing stood out from every other Trans Am... the mileage. 300,000 miles!!!. My dad wasn't afraid to tell people how many miles was on his Trans Am. Around 2010-2012 the car was heavily restored with new paint, new decals, an engine restoration, frame, body and interior work was done too. Unfortunately he passed away from cancer on October 3rd, 2013 at the age of 43. At the time of his death, I was only 11, and I was probably the only 11 year old to own a Trans Am. I had bragging rights over that in Middle School. My dad's best friend, Steve, who has lived in Marshall, Michigan his whole life offered to look after the car until I have a place to keep it. He flew down and drove the Trans Am 662 miles from Mooresville, NC to Marshall, MI in 2013 with no problems whatsoever. He's been taking care of the car ever since and I should be taking possession of it sometime between 2022 to 2025.
