Trans Am Hood Decal Question

Thank you for allowing me aboard today!

Have a question regarding hood decals.

I recently purchased a 1978 Starlight black T/A with a bird decal that I’ve only seen on gold SE T/A's.

Did the factory ever affix the more detailed hood decal on black cars in 1978 or only gold SE's?

I dont know if the decal colors show up in the trim tag.

I think by 78 of 9, there was more latitude regarding the colors of the screaming chicken.

Just as a guess, I would think the gold ones were reserved for the SE cars.
