Red, white, blue, or silver.

Black, only if the paint is excellent; I know that will increase the price.

I'd like a 400 automatic, but a '79 403 is not a deal breaker.

Cloth seats are preferred, as well as T-Tops and air conditioning.

I'm finding interesting cars in the mid-$20,000s, but I will probably have to get into the high-$30,000s to get something nicer.

Mid $40Ks and higher is no bueno.

It's going to be a work in progress. I can do some work myself, but not the heavy mechanical work.

I researched my Corvette for about 18 months.

Got exactly what I wanted, and I enjoyed it for 10 years before selling.

Kids went off to college, and you know the rest, lol.

My son will graduate in two years, and I want to have everything in line when I'm ready to take the next step.

I'm also considering C3 Corvettes, as they're a bit cheaper, but I've never had a Trans Am.

I'm leaning more towards the TA.

Thanks for the help.

Shopping for a 77-79 Trans Am.

Are there any Trans Am owners out there who owned a 77-79 T/A with and without T-Tops?

T-Tops are currently on my must-have list, but they seem to be harder to find.

I'm wondering if the T-Topsops on a 77-79 are worth holding out for.
We say get T-Tops!

Thank you,

I've never owned a second-generation F-body, and I've never considered a non-T-top car.

You'll get people who say something about leaking, but there are solutions for that.

When the weather and cruising are right, you'll want that T-top, IMHO.

Good luck finding your ride.
