Hi everyone, I’m a new member that just joined today.

I have a 1978 Trans Am that I got back in 2006, and it’s been sitting at my parents ever since.

The previous owner took out the original 403 for a 350 SBC, and not sure what transmission it has.

I want to start working on the 78 slowly just to be able to do things right.

I will primarily use the car for cruising and have a few questions.

Can someone please redirect me if there are any threads about my questions?

I need to redo my brake system.

Is there a reason why I should not stay with stock brakes for mostly cruising?

My 78 has a front disc, and the rear has drums.

Any negatives against using all Moog suspension parts?

I will replace the 350sbc with a 383 sitting in the garage.

Does anyone have experience with Holley sniper EFi?

I want to convert from auto to a T56.

I have searched and seen mostly everyone recommending the LS1 style T56.

Why won’t the LT1 t56 work, or were the LS1 T56 suggestions for the original engines?

Thanks,
Eddie

That is a lot of questions all at once.

How is the car sitting right now?

Are you trying to rip it all down to the bones and start a complete build or fix what needs to be fixed to get it back on the road?

Thank you,

Sorry, it is a lot of questions at once.

From the order of importance, it would be brakes (rears are sticking), front suspension, and whether an LT1 t56 will work with my SBC.

I want to fix what it needs to get it back on the road.

The car is complete, I have not taken anything apart and can move it small distances.
