Here are the before and after pictures of my trans am that was stolen 17.5 years ago.
She is home and has a trunk full of goodies for the interior as well.
So in 2007, my car was stolen from me in Nashville as I was attending college at NADC.
I had to come home because my mother was put in the hospital, and my buddy, who was watching it, called and asked me if I had taken my car home, because it was not at the house.
So I rushed back and made a report as the officer turned it in, and after a year of calling and hoping something turned up, it never did.
In 2023, I had an officer friend check the VIN and case number, and he called back about a month later and said sorry, he got busy and forgot to check it.
He told me he had seen it registered with someone, so I started calling Metro in Nashville, and I kept getting the run-around about it being so old.
So finally, one day I drove up and talked to the captain, where I made a report, and he told me that no one was ever assigned to the case.
He sent me to talk to the theft unit in Nashville (that was a joke and a waste of time) as they didn't help and told me if i wanted it back, I'd have to sue the new owner.
Several months passed, and I finally got the new owner to talk with me as he refused to give it back (understandable), and if I wanted to, I could repurchase it for 10k.
I was close to getting a loan out this year to repurchase it.
My father tried to make some calls and finally found a detective to look into the case and determine if he could help.
Less than 24 hours later, my father called and said call this guy, and he will tell you what to do to get the car back.
I called the Clarksville police, and they verified the VIN and towed it away.
I picked up the car today, May 1st, 2025, and it is now home!!
