Does anyone know an auto body shop in the Los Angeles metro area that's familiar with the 1993-1997 Firebird Trans Am and can perfectly laser align frames?
I'd get this 1997 Firebird Trans Am repaired, but I suspect the front-end contours will never be as perfect as an undamaged one.
It's still drivable -- I drove it home about 1 mile after the accident--but it's at risk of overheating, and the broken windshield might get me a ticket.
The airbags deployed, and the right airbag shattered the windshield.
GM Parts Direct has these parts:
$402.40 front nosecone 10242397
$197.21 left front fender 10404899; right fender is discontinued
The hood still closes and maybe could be hammered out.
I love this car--I'm the second owner, have had it since 2004, and would like to save it.
But it's probably not worth it, especially given the low oil pressure.
Otherwise, any ideas on the best place to sell this for parts? Regular junkyard? Any specialists in F bodies? It's got the chrome wheels, a reasonably new Optispark, four-speed automatic, 175k miles.
Also posted on ls1lt1-- sorry for any repetition
Thanks all.
