This is my first fourth-gen f body.

I've seen a lot of pictures of LT1 engines, but none of those pictures have this pump-looking thing that sits above my driver-side valve cover just behind the throttle.

It's got some plastic cover on it with a warning saying do not adjust throttle or something to that effect, and if you remove the plastic, it's like this pump-looking thing that says Bosch on it.

Now I'm confused about what this is and what it does because many other Trans Ams don't have it.

So if anybody can enlighten me and tell me what this is and what it does, I would appreciate it.

Yes! You can see it in the pic I posted with an orange arrow pointing to it.

As I said, that's just the plastic cover underneath.

It's like this pump-looking thing that says Bosch on it almost resembles a tire pressure pump that you would plug into your cigarette lighter vaguely reminds me of that.

Hmmm, I’ve never seen anything like that before?

Any lines running to it?

I wonder if it has anything to do with the brake system.

Can anybody else chime in that can identify this?

Okay here's some better pictures with the plastic cover and without it.

Throttle body traction control actuator?

I found a part number that was two numbers off your last digits (0 205 005 010) on your picture, but it's for a BMW, which looks very similar to what you have.

I couldn't find any listing for your car's exact numbers (0 205 005 007).

Hopefully, somebody can chime in to confirm.
