Hi all!

I’ve got a 1982 Trans Am 305 crossfire.

I’ve changed the spark plugs, new engine oil and filter, new fuel filter, and fuel.

It backfires on the injector, throttle body, and flames for a moment once you press the accelerator.

We have tried all we can think of, and it’s still running rich.

Please help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We have also turned to 10, 8, 7, 6 degrees with no luck.

Thanks in advance

Jess

Rich running conditions on a fuel-injected setup could be a multitude of things.

Since you have already tuned it up, I would check for vacuum at the map sensor and ensure the map sensor is getting the proper voltage.

A bad map sensor will cause this as well, also check the O2 sensor this to will cause a rich running condition.

Check those things and let us know how you are doing with them.
