I'd like to know definitively if it is also a W72

My mom purchased in 92 from her neighbor.

His documentation to my mom said it was a W72

The L78 engine and VIN stamps are the same, but the headstamp is XA and #8.

That should be enough to tell me that it is not a W72, but I looked into the W72 option at Build Sheet Bingo, and they adamantly state that in 1977 "W72 is not an engine code, and cars with W72 engines will have the L78 engine code."

If I weren't planning on listing my car, it wouldn't be a concern.

Thanks

All motors were coded L78 then when the W72 Performance package was selected you get the good motor.

If your car was a Canadian delivery Vintage Vehicle Services in Ontario can get you everything you need for documentation.

This would help greatly with sale documentation.
