Have you heard of Herb Adam’s? He was a GM engineering wizard who developed the 70-81 F body suspension packages.
As well as competing himself he wrote loads of books & tech articles on chassis engineering & development, worth checking out some of his wisdom on the interweb before you invest...
That looks amazing!
No corrosion, can't see any dents, let alone accident damage.
You could prep & paint that shell in a week!
I can't wait to see how this pans out & a factory 4fourspeed from what I can see.👌
Agree entirely………. decent long lasting body repair is a hard thing to master, installing mechanical parts is far easier to get right first time.
I hope if you’re allowed you can post some progress up on here? It’s still an F bomb after all!😎
Haha I almost knew after you’d posted the news it wasn’t gonna get pirated for parts that it was gonna be the lead project……. & for what it’s worth I’m with you all the way, wise choice 👌👌
It's a shame you must let it go, but the real world does get in the way.
You could start with a description of the car, maybe the VIN & body tag, plus some pix.
As for values, I can't help much as I'm in England, but I'm sure the good members here can guide you. 👍
Bloody hell, that’s some problem!
Start by eliminating components, whip the starter off & power it up with jumper cables while it’s lying on the garage floor & watch it closely.
It’s possible that the solenoid has failed internal insulation or switching; after operation, it takes a few seconds...
Brilliant progress!
Just my opinion, but attach the brace under the deck lid drain channels & that way, you can easily drop the deck lid on to check the gap fit. 👍
I'll see if I can find a case lying about the workshop; I'm pretty sure I got one somewhere.
It'll be stamped into the case number & hopefully, the steel tag.
An easy way to identify which is inlet or outlet is to remove lines from the pump and place your finger over the tapping while cranking the engine—only if it’s safe to do so!
You’ll easily feel pressure if it’s pumping ok.
While you have the lines disconnected, get that vacuum pump and make...
